Ascheri Gavi di Gavi 2010, Gavi Wine

Ascheri Gavi di Gavi 2010, Gavi Wine

Origin: Italy - Piemonte

Artisan Vineyard Notes

Characteristics: Serious white wine from the Piedmonte. I imagine that if you used a stone pestle and mortar to crush a lovely yellow peach, pit and all, along with the zest of a lemon this is the fragrance you’d get. The impression in the mouth is quite textural, silky almost. That feel is supported by the finish as are the flavours; quite unusual but very appealing. Obviously there is a richness to this wine but no fat, none. 12.5 Alcohol. Notes by LAC. April 16, 2012.
Food Pairings: Excellent as aperitif, twins well with shell fish hors d’oeuvres, fish and clear soups.

Alexander Valley Vineyards Gewurz 2009
Characteristics: Gewurtraminer grapes grow best in cooler climates like Mendocino's Potter Valley, the source for this 2009 Gewurz.
This latest release shows an expressive nose of pineapple, lychee and pear and flavors of grapefruit and apple along with a big mineral component. You'll also notice the wine exhibits a creamy mouthfeel, nicely balanced by the wine's acidity.

Alexander Valley Vineyards Gewurz 2012
Characteristics: My word this is fragrant! Spicy floral top notes with a fresh core of fresh lychees –like a perfumed neck whose hug I want again and again. A crisp, mouthwatering palate is a relief after the nose as some aromatic wines read as too sweet –not here; this is simply delicious and leaves my entire mouth happily captive in its charming scents.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, November 2012

In the glass the 2012 is a pale, straw yellow color with floral, sweet aromas of stone fruits, grapefruit, orange blossom and
a hint of wet stone minerality. The flavors are similar to the aromas highlighted by pear, grapefruit, stone fruit, slight
tropical notes and just the tiniest bit of spritz from the quick fermentation.
Winemaker Kevin Hall says : “This wine is drier in style, with more minerality and spice than previous years, there is palate
weight with this vintage and it almost has an Alsatian feel.” 12.8% ABV

Alexis Bailly Vineyards Seyval Blanc 2011
Characteristics: The Seyval Blanc is Alexis Bailly Vineyard's premium white wine. Named for the French Horticulturist who developed the variety during WWI, the Seyval came to the United States in the 1960's when pioneers, like David Bailly, were looking for wine grapes that could be grown outside of the norms of Califonia. With its balance of clean bright fruit and a dry crisp finish, the Seyval is a wine that is both elegant and appealing.

Riedel Sommeliers Chablis/Chardonnay
Description: In 1973, in Orvieto, Claus Riedel presented the world's first gourmet glass series developed with the help of the Associazione
