Antico Colle Chianti 2009, Sangiovese Wine

Antico Colle Chianti 2009, Sangiovese Wine

Origin: Italy - Tuscany

Artisan Vineyard Notes

Characteristics: This medium-bodied, well-balanced wine was subdued at first, with faint black cherry aromas that opened into scents of leather, earthy, plums, and violets. Bright with crisp acidity and balanced tannins. Well rounded fruit components throughout the finish. Definitely over delivers for the money.
- Wine Tasting note by KS, June 2011

Delicate and at the same time very generous with earth and spice. Hard to believe this wine doesn't cost twice as much! Distinctive Sangiovese fruit - juicy cherry, herbaceous and pie spicey - as well as bright acid make this wine an accessible gift to the table.
- wine tasting notes by JN, September 2010
Food Pairings: To be accompanied by first courses, roasts, cold meats and cheese.

Alexis Bailly Vineyards Frontenac 2011
Characteristics: What a wonderful and intriguing nose. It has some of the uplifted spices in mulling spices especially cinnamon and spearmint layered atop the Frontenac red fruit. WOW totally yummy and I’m sure it’s the first Frontenac I’ve ever described as such. A flood of red fruit flavor but in pirouette of balance and finesse rarely found in this varietal. A big bravo to Nan Bailly.

Altano Douro Red Portuguese Table Wine 2010
Characteristics: Perhaps it should not come as a surprise seeing as this dry red comes to us from the Symington family –whose name is synonymous with Ports but it comes as a happy surprise that this wine resembles every bright charm of Port without any of the sweet dried fruit reserved to that fortified category. This is heady and fragrant sure but with freshly crushed boysenberries and sliced plums. With a palate the texture of velvet and seasoned with baking spices, this is just short of brooding. Instead we find a gentle giant whose charms are the contrast betwixt strength and restraint, and ones angst over what they might expect from this brawny sort vanishes before the beaming smile they encounter instead. This sustainable red is made from the Portuguese varieties Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.

Riedel 'O' Sauvignon blanc/Zinfandel/Sangiovese 2 packs
Description: Riedel "O" is the new take on the wine tumbler. The tumbler, used for centuries as an all-round drinking vessel, is now turned into a sophisticated wine accessory. In short: "O" is the ideal glass for every day use and for every occasion. Without stems to knock into or over, the "O" is pet-proof and kid-friendly, meaning fewer glasses to replace down the line.

The designs of "O" are based on the benchmark shapes of Riedel Vinum. For the first time in glass history the design parameters such as shape of tumbler, size and diameter of rim, have been finely-tuned to enhance the world's most important grape varietals. The price range for the non lead machine-blown glass series is half the price of Riedel Vinum glasses.

It fits in every dishwasher, picnic basket, minibar or small kitchen. Broken stems are a thing of the past.
