Antico Colle Chianti 2009, Sangiovese Wine

Antico Colle Chianti 2009, Sangiovese Wine

Origin: Italy - Tuscany

Artisan Vineyard Notes

Characteristics: This medium-bodied, well-balanced wine was subdued at first, with faint black cherry aromas that opened into scents of leather, earthy, plums, and violets. Bright with crisp acidity and balanced tannins. Well rounded fruit components throughout the finish. Definitely over delivers for the money.
- Wine Tasting note by KS, June 2011

Delicate and at the same time very generous with earth and spice. Hard to believe this wine doesn't cost twice as much! Distinctive Sangiovese fruit - juicy cherry, herbaceous and pie spicey - as well as bright acid make this wine an accessible gift to the table.
- wine tasting notes by JN, September 2010
Food Pairings: To be accompanied by first courses, roasts, cold meats and cheese.

Chateau de Riviere Chinon 2013
Characteristics: Sustainable | 100% Cabernet Franc | From the stony terraced sloped of the River Vienne that feeds into the Loire along its left bank southeast of Saumur and southwest of Tours, Chinon stands proud as synonymous with Cabernet Franc –definitive Cabernet Franc of the Loire. In this case this Chinon is from 15 year old vines planted to a clay limestone hillside. Sweet scented purple violets, white pepper and plums make for a fresh and invigorating red with polished red and blue fruits of the forest including the typical Chinon cassis and that wisp of telltale anise but also plenty of those sneaky textural tannins that set these medium bodied Chinon apart from other Cabernet Franc –among the great food friendly, bistro reds for charcuterie, rillettes, and game birds on the wing.

Domaine Launay Julienas 2011
Characteristics: Sustainable | South of Macon in Burgundy’s sub region of Beaujolais, Gamay grapevines blanket every hill and vale with the simplest wines coming from the vines planted to the fertile valley floor and the finest, most expressive forms from the vines that carpet and cling to the granitic slopes of the ten most celebrated hill towns, or Cru. In the northernmost Cru of Saint Amour, François Launay makes site specific Beaujolais that speak of the various south facing slopes of this historic region. François tends 15 acres of ancient vineyards that become Cru-specific Beaujolais labeled either Saint Amour or Juliénas –the next most northerly Cru after Saint Amour.

François’ Juliénas is a fuller architectural expression of Gamay –by no means a flexing heavyweight but a spicier, more textural, structured Beaujolais of telltale floral top notes and an engaging admixture of red fruit, herbs, and pepper on the palate. Named for Julius Caesar, Juliénas is celebrated as the oldest wine region in Beaujolais and for all its nimble talents and great structure it is also among the most age worthy of all the Cru Beaujolais with that of Domaine Launay no exception. François’ charming and contrasting wines are clear proof that he understands and respects the nature of Beaujolais terroir and trusts Gamay will serve as the megaphone for the gifted parcels he tends –and this is why we’re so fortunate to have found him and represent his inimitable wines.

What a nose! Roses and raspberries, spices and herbs, with a juicy structured palate that follows. Textured, medium bodied, and dusted with black pepper on the finish –this calls for charcuterie.

Riedel 'O' Sauvignon blanc/Zinfandel/Sangiovese 4x2pk - 0414/15
Description: Riedel "O" is the new take on the wine tumbler. The tumbler, used for centuries as an all-round drinking vessel, is now turned into a sophisticated wine accessory. In short: "O" is the ideal glass for every day use and for every occasion. Without stems to knock into or over, the "O" is pet-proof and kid-friendly, meaning fewer glasses to replace down the line.

The designs of "O" are based on the benchmark shapes of Riedel Vinum. For the first time in glass history the design parameters such as shape of tumbler, size and diameter of rim, have been finely-tuned to enhance the world's most important grape varietals. The price range for the non lead machine-blown glass series is half the price of Riedel Vinum glasses.

It fits in every dishwasher, picnic basket, minibar or small kitchen. Broken stems are a thing of the past.
