J Christopher Pinot Noir 2009, Pinot Noir Wine

J Christopher Pinot Noir 2009, Pinot Noir Wine

Origin: USA Oregon - Williamette
Characteristics: Oregon is one of the world’s three top regions for producing Pinot Noir. The others are New Zealand and, of course, Burgundy. The cool climate in the Williamette Valley allows Pinot Noir to mature slowly and the poor soils on hill sides above a few hundred feet reduces their vigor creating delicacy and complexity in the wines. Universally Pinot Noirs share a taste profile that is dried roses, spring deciduous leaf, tea leaves and often a sweet earthiness in the nose; the flavours are from a motley palette including cherries of most any hue, sometimes truffle, gaminess and a wonderful comforting earthiness. The wines of Oregon distinguish themselves with a lovely sweet fruitiness and a silken texture.

99 Vines Pinot Noir
Characteristics: Smoky berries and red cherries make this thirst slaking glass of Pinot Noir an immediate charmer. Medium bodied and smooth with juicy structure and a faint brambly quality that rounds this out. Immediate appeal carries us through to the finish. Simply a tasty glass of wine!

Alexander Valley Vineyards Zinfandel Redemption 2009
Characteristics: Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel at 14.9%
This has a dark edge for a wine titled “Redemption” with a dense core of blackberry fruit and an amped up black pepper spice to accompany lamb or smoked ribs. Full on the finish this is juicy, savory, spicy, and an absolute joy to drink as it goes down so easily.
