Altivo Reserva Chardonnay-Viognier 2008, White wine Wine

Origin: Argentina

Artisan Vineyard Notes

Characteristics: Nice golden color. Aromas pop from the glass, peaches and soft melon fruits. In the mouth it is lush and round with melon, citrus and peach flavors.
- wine tasting note by MB, July 2011

Bright golden color with green hues. This 50:50 blend of Chardonnay and Viognier is wonderfully aromatic. Notes of peach, stone fruit and exotic citrus characters leap from the glass. The wine is lush and velvety. Peach, melon and stone fruit flavors coat the palate, with subtle sweet spicy notes. Flavors linger long after the last sip.

Food Pairings: Enjoy with seafood, blue cheeses or spicy foods.
Expert Review
87 points - "Pale yellow. Delicate fruit-driven aromas of peach, pear and apple. Supple, round and ripe, with nice intensity and balance to the fruit flavors. Finishes fresh and firm, but with a slightly tart phenolic quality."

My Rating:
Angeline Chardonnay 2012
Characteristics: Coastal Californian Chardonnay retains the brighter charms of Chardonnay with fresh and firm guava and papaya notes on the nose that round out with a ripe fruit on the palate. Although dry it almost comes across as sweetly fragrant on the mid-palate in a way that makes this a natural with savory cuisine from India to Thailand as it can handle density and heat.

My Rating:
Argyle Nuthouse Chardonnay 2009
Characteristics: Mouthwatering is the first descriptor that comes to mind. A nose of sweet white peach, orange blossom and cool nectarine with an overlay of toasted hazelnuts, clove and allspice that is so fresh, pure and clean that it just fires up those salivary glands. It opens with a full mouth feel with notes of baked peach and toasted hazelnuts and delicious notes of honey and hints of graham cracker. The palate finishes with clean oak spice notes and a stony minerality that quenches and excites.

My Rating:
Barraud Pouilly Fuisse La Roche 2007
Characteristics: Here the thin soils show themselves which in the 2007s is a terrific complexity. The nose is stoney, chalky. Quince, preserved lemons in the flavours with a shimmery steeliness in the finish.
