Artisan Vineyard Notes
Characteristics: Intense ruby red in color with garnet reflections. Aromas of violets and vanilla, with hints of licorice. Velvety palate, with tart-cherry flavors and traces of spice. Well structured with supple tannins, superb concentration, and good acidity. Persistent finish.
- Tasting note by KS, May 2010

Colour: Garnet red, intense and brilliant, with light orange hints
Bouquet: Penetrating, very full and varied,
reminiscent of wild berries
Palate: Dry, warm, full-bodied, harmonious, delicate and austere at the same time, persistent
Alcoholic content: 12.5-13.5%
-notes from the winery
Food Pairings: Roasts, grilled, spit-roast or braised
meats, game, ripe cheeses.
Better if uncorked 1 - 2 hours before serving.
Expert Review
92 Points - "A sweet Pinot-like bouquet leads to perfumed black cherries, spices, licorice and tobacco. This mid-weight, graceful Brunello offers gorgeous balance, with an expressive core of fruit that flows through to a long, refined close. The 2005 is one of the best versions of this wine I have tasted in some time."

2005 Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino
90 Points - "Medium ruby-red. Spicy red cherry and floral aromas are bright and enticing. Then sweet and juicy in the mouth, with flavors of ripe red cherry, raspberry jam and cinnamon. Finishes long and clean, with a hint of coffee. A lovely wine with very good balance and above-average concentration for the vintage; I especially like its upfront fruity charm."
