Artisan Vineyard Notes
Characteristics: Bottled in 2009 and enjoyed shortly thereafter, I am delighted how much this conveys so young. Like all great vintage Port this holds true to certain standards; opaque wine stains the edge of the glass and the texture is rich and dense but 2007 was deemed an elegant vintage along the Douro and it yielded more intricate aromas of flower petals, licorice, cherry pits, framboise and mineral than those you find from the headier, powerhouse years. An explosive tension of ripe fruit and tart skins pulls across the palate releasing brown sugar, gingerbread, dried red fruits along the way with some clove on the finish. Dollar for dollar, Gould Campbell is one of the greatest Ports available. Tasting review by Nicholas D. Livingston

Expert Review
90 Points - "Good deep ruby. Superripe aromas of black cherry, licorice, pepper and nutty oak. Thoroughly ripe and slightly high-toned but a bit clenched today, and not yet expansive in the middle palate or on the firm back end. This will need time to express itself." -Wine Review by Stephen Tanzer, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan 2010
